Joseph Brazier is one of the most respected names in English gunmaking. Joseph Brazier began his firm in 1827. Since 1831 the firm has been making fine shotguns and supplying the gun trade with some of the finest locks and parts available. Most prestigious firms in Great Britain and Europe today have availed themselves of Joseph Brazier firearm parts and services. Virtually every Best English gun has Brazier components inside and is so marked.

Joseph Brazier Ltd. came to life in the day when another famous company, John and Joseph Manton, employed most of the gun trade labor. Among those employees were now world famous gunmakers and craftsmen: William Moore 1808, John Blanch 1813, James Purdey 1820, John Wilkes 1830, William Grey 1830, Charles Lancaster 1836 (formerly owned by Brazier), Thomas Boss 1841, and William Greener 1829. The relationship between Joseph Brazier and the London Gunmakers forged over centuries past is still seen today. It remains in our heritage of producing the highest quality work with a tradition of innovation, unbroken since 1827.

Engraved Shotgun Lock

Today, through the efforts of Mr. Karl Lippard, Joseph Brazier Ltd. has entered the 21st century by employing the most sophisticated design, engineering, materials, and production methods available. The new Brazier sidelock over/under Karl Lippard Model shotguns, as well as our SolidRifle, and advanced pistol technology are the new standard that all makers will strive to match. Joseph Brazier, Ltd. is a premier designer and supplier to the modern gun trade and was also recently contracted by the British Royal Navy to design and produce all Cannon Locks for Admiral Nelson's famous ship, the HMS Victory.
